dreaming out loud

One of my favourite albums and songs alike has been, for an incredibly long time, Dreaming Out Loud by OneRepublic. I vividly remember finding the album in front of my door with a lot of chocolate on a morning in some December in the past.

Girl floating, head buried in her arms, face covered by purple hair flowing downwards. Blue dress. White trees sprouting from her back, with sparkles. All in front of a dark blue background.

I saw an interview with Ryan Tedder around the time Apologize started getting a lot of attention. He was very fascinated by Timbaland and his skills; nowadays Ryan Tedder himself has worked on what feels like every other famous song. I feel very lucky to have seen OneRepublic live a bunch of times, but unfortunately, as always, the secret bonus tracks are my favourites rather than the singles that get played at every show.

OneRepublic gigs are different from gigs I usually go to, cause they can fill an entire set with just very famous singles. For me personally that’s a little annoying, always hoping for songs seemingly no one else cares about.

Dreaming Out Loud has been a favourite of mine for what feels like forever. I think it was one of the first albums I had, maybe even the second or third one. I wanted to incorporate the original artwork in my piece, I really like it. It’s a album that feels a little like nighttime, gloomy, on the quiet side. I go back to listening to it every now and then.
